Merri Mashers @ Beerfest 2015
Beerfest is the Melbourne Brewer's annual home brew competition, and it's both Victoria's oldest and largest club-run competition. With the Merri Mashers not even a year old as yet, this is the first time we've had an opportunity to get some entries into Beerfest as a club, and enter we did! 19 beers across 7 different categories in total, not a bad effort for the new kids on the block...
Our complete results are below, but for now let's focus on the highlights....a huge congratulations to Brett Lenne and Nick van Duyn for beating all-comers in the Belgian and Pale Ale categories respectively!
- Brett's Tripel won with a whopping 121.5 points, 4.5 points above 2nd place, and only 1 point shy of taking out Champion Beer of Show!
- Nick's American Pale Ale won with a score of 121...3 points above the 2nd place beer and again only a whisker away from champion status.
Fantastic results for these guys...but it doesn't end there....back in the Pale Ale category, Julian Robinson claimed 3rd place with his Kolsch, and Nathan Keatch grabbed 8th with his American Pale Ale. Yep, 3 Mashers in the top 10 for Pale Ales...brilliant stuff.
Here's a complete list of Merri Mashers' results for 2015. Congrats to all.
