We’re kickin’ off 2024 with our January meeting at 3 Ravens in Thornbury! The 3 Ravens bar has a great tap list of their awesome beers and they also do great pizzas. Rock up any time from 6pm onwards for dinner and proceedings will kick off shortly after 7pm. As with all club meetings please support the venue by ordering their beers at the start of the night (if you can). Later, AFTER the club updates, it’s HIGHLY encouraged to share any homebrew you’ve brought. Sharing your creations is not only a tops thing to do but it’s a great way to get constructive feedback to improve your brewing. Finally, if you’ve been stalking us on Facebook but aren’t a member yet you’re more than welcome to attend and see what we’re about. We’re an inclusive club and love newbies of all experience levels.

With Future Mountain announcing recently that they will be selling the Reservoir brewery and moving to regional Vic, we thought we should organise one last meeting at this great venue. FM meetings are always a lot of fun and this one is on a Friday night too, so most of us wont have to worry about work the next day. There is no "theme" for Feb. Just enjoy the venue and their beer.

Rock up any time after work and proceedings will kick off shortly after 7pm.

As with all club meetings please support the venue by ordering food and beers at the start of the night (if you can). In terms of food FM have a pizza kitchen on site.

At May's meeting we'll be discussing and sharing our Communibrew barley wines. Last year around October club members voted on a style and ingredients for this brew. Many of us brewed the resulting recipe and it will be great to compare and contrast everyone's beers. Of course if you didn't brew the Communibrew this time feel free to bring along whatever homebrew you have for sharing after.

We're also checking out a new venue - Coburg RSL. They have a great space upstairs that we think will work really well for club meetings like this one where we want to discuss things as a group.

A few important things to note about Coburg RSL:

1) The RSL requests that hats not be worn inside as a sign of respect. No big deal if you forget (like I did) but you might be reminded to take it off.

2) When you arrive say you're with the Merri Mashers and they will direct you upstairs. We're all there as "friends of a member". You might want to grab a beer from the bar on your way too.

3) The RSL doesn't do food so the club will put on pizzas for people or you can order uber eats.

4) There will be a fridge upstairs for us to store our homebrews in.

Later, AFTER the club updates, it’s HIGHLY encouraged to share any homebrew you’ve brought. Sharing your creations is not only a tops thing to do but it’s a great way to get constructive feedback to improve your brewing.
