SUMMARY:June Club Meeting @ Keeper
DESCRIPTION:Intro\n\n\n\nARE YOU READY FOR AN AGM?! Yeah\, June each year is when we hold our AGM. It’s always a well attended event. This year we’re heading to Keeper in Brunswick. As well as having a front row seat should a coup d’etat break out\, you will also get to see (or receive?) the latest 10 year membership badges being presented. Oh\, and there will of course be the usual sharing of homebrew and good times. We have the up stairs room booked for this meeting so grab a beer at the bar when you arrive and then head on up. \n\n\n\nFood\n\n\n\nKeeper have a kitchen that does pizzas. Check out the menu here:https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0791/1289/6755/files/BREWERY_MENU_V15.-PIZZA.pdf?v=1761959393 \n\n\n\nHomebrew\n\n\n\nPlease hand any homebrew you have in at the bar when you arrive for storage in the fridge. \n\n\n\nOther\n\n\n\nAs with all club meetings please support the venue by ordering their beers at the start of the night (if you can). \n\n\n\nWe will kick off announcements at roughly 7:15pm. The committee will give everyone a 5 minute warning so you have time to get another beer from the bar. \n\n\n\nLater\, AFTER the club updates\, it’s HIGHLY encouraged to share any homebrew you’ve brought. Sharing your creations is not only a tops thing to do but it’s a great way to get constructive feedback to improve your brewing. \n\n\n\nFinally\, if you’ve been stalking us on Facebook but aren’t a member yet you’re more than welcome to attend and see what we’re about. SUMMARY:Winter Feast 2026
DESCRIPTION:Winter Feast is the Merri Mashers and THursty Brewers annual winter party. It’s a celebration of great homebrewed beer\, warming comfort food\, puffer jackets\, fire drums and great people. The event is held at Holger’s farm in Diamond Creek and is free for all club members to attend. \nPartners and kids are also welcome\, with soft drinks and marshmallows provided for toasting over the fire. \nIf you’re coming\, or even 70% sure you’re coming\, please RSVP via the link below as soon as you can. We know people don’t love committing to things too far in advance\, but the committee needs to know numbers to make sure there’s enough food\, beer and other supplies for everyone. \nTo RSVP click here \nIn the RSVP form you’ll be asked what beer and/or food you plan to bring. You absolutely don’t need to bring anything if you’re not able to\, but Winter Feast is all about members sharing the things they make\, so we strongly encourage everyone to contribute something if they can. \nFor some people that might mean brewing a keg of beer or cooking a pig on the spit. For others it could just be a couple of bottles from the shed fridge and a packet of chips from 7-Eleven on the way there. Both are equally welcome\, we just ask that you let us know in your RSVP so the committee can make sure there’s plenty of food and beer\, and a good variety of both. \nOther things you need to know about Winter Feast \nAddressThe address will be emailed to everyone who RSVPs prior to the event. \nKegsWe should have enough taps available between the club fonts and Holger’s keezer. If you need a tap to serve your beer\, please let us know so we can organise it. If we end up with more kegs than taps we may need to rotate kegs throughout the evening. If you need to update what beers you’re bringing click here \nWeatherThis is an outdoor event\, so we are at the mercy of the weather. Thankfully\, the club is well prepared. We’ll have a huge marquee set up along with additional undercover space in Holger’s garage. It has rained during Winter Feast before and we still had a great time. \nWarm clothes are definitely recommended\, and it can get a little muddy if wet\, so maybe leave the brand new sneakers at home. \nTransportHolger’s farm is about an 8–10 minute drive north of Diamond Creek train station. If you need help getting there or home again\, sing out on Discord or Facebook. Chances are someone can give you a lift or split an Uber with you. \nKeep in mind that rideshare services and taxis can sometimes be slow around Diamond Creek late at night\, so plan ahead. Or just camp overnight. \nHowever you choose to get there\, please don’t drink and drive. We want everyone getting home safely. \nCampingMany members camp overnight at Winter Feast. Holger has a “camping ground” near the hop field for tents\, while others sleep in cars or vans. Both are great options. Just let us know in your RSVP if you’re planning to stay overnight. \nFoodThere will be limited fridge space available for storing food\, along with access to a microwave\, oven and electric cooktop for heating things up. Please let us know what you’ll need in your RSVP so we can manage space and heating requirements. \nThe club will provide plates\, knives\, forks and serviettes. Please bring anything else you need for serving your food.To update the food that you’re planning to bring click here \nTiming and setupThe event officially starts at 3pm\, though you’re welcome to arrive from 2pm if you need extra time to set up tents\, beer dispensing gear or cooking equipment. \nIf you’re bringing a bit of stuff and would prefer to set it up further in advance\, the committee will be setting some things up the evening before. If you’d like to set up at this time as well please message Brian for more details. \nWhat to bringAside from any food\, beer or camping gear you’re bringing\, all you really need are warm clothes and a camping chair if you have one. Holger has some seating available\, but not enough for everyone. \nWho can attend \nWinter Feast is open to all paid-up members of the Merri Mashers and THursty Brewers\, along with their partners and kids. \nThis year we’ll also be welcoming a small number of guests of the club. These are people who have helped support the club over the past year\, or who are visiting the event and venue as part of planning for Brewstock later in the year. \nFurther questions \nIf you have any questions about the event\, please ask in the Winter Feast channel on Discord or contact the committee via the website.

SUMMARY:Wine Making Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: This date is subject to change. Keep an eye on the Discord channel for up to date information. \nWe’re once again doing wine making as a club. Spots are limited so make sure you register your interest soon. We will be picking grapes once again from Shiraz Republic in Heathcote and then returning to Holger’s Farm in Diamond Creek to do stem them. \nParticipants will take home enough grapes to make ~20L of wine. You don’t need to know anything about making wine. Michael and Justin will be leading the group throughout this journey. You don’t need a heap of special equipment either. Many made great wine last year with just a few food grade buckets from Bunnings and the brewing gear they already had.

SUMMARY:February Club Meeting @ Bridge Road Dining Hall\, Brunswick
DESCRIPTION:A few weeks back the club partnered with Bridge Road to design and brew Amateur Hour IPA. We figured this was a good excuse to have a club meeting at their Brunswick venue and everyone who hasn’t already tried it\, can. \nTheme: This meeting will have a “Hops” theme (fitting\, given the beer we brewed with them and the IPA comp coming up). Mark from Bridge Road will talk to us about the breweries approach to brewing the best possible hop forward beers. \nA number of Mashers also brewed the Amateur Hour recipe and they will have their resulting beers at the event so we can compare and contrast the professional version to the home brewed ones. \nFood: Bridge Road have a great kitchen on site. You can check out the menu here. \nHomebrew: Yes\, please bring some if you can. Check invite close to the date for details about potential storage at the venue when you arrive. \nAs with all club meetings please support the venue by ordering their beers at the start of the night (if you can). \nWe will kick off announcements at roughly 7:15pm. SUMMARY:Merri Mashers South Melbourne "Bus" Trip
DESCRIPTION:Introducing the 2026 Merri Mashers “Bus” trip. \nWay back in Mashers lore we used to run bus trips. These were glorious things but also expensive and difficult to organise. Then there was a bus trip that didn’t get enough interest to run\, then there was 2020 (enough said) and bus trips kinda fell off our radar. Well\, we’re bringing ’em back! Only there will be a small tweak to the concept. We’re replacing the bus part with walking. If it’s well attended we can look at a proper bus trip down the track but walking between venues makes it super easy to do. \nWhen: Saturday the 7th of Feb from 12pm until we’re done \nWhere: South Melbourne. Specifically: Brewmanity\, Pirate Life\, Westside Ale Works and CBCo. \nWe’ll meet at Brewmanity for lunch at 12pm and aim to move to Pirate Life around 2pm\, Westside around 4pm and then Colonial about 6pm. We’re not booking tables or organising talks or anything though so we can be a little loose. We will post our movement to Discord throughout the afternoon so people can join us when they want. \nIf you’re keen I’m setting up a Discord channel for this event. Please post in it if you plan on coming so we know numbers.

SUMMARY:Merri Mashers January Meeting @ 3 Ravens\, Thornbury
DESCRIPTION:It’s a new year and a new Mashers meeting calendar! We’re kicking off 2026 with a visit to 3 Ravens Brewery in Thornbury.\n\nAs with all club meetings please support the venue by ordering their beers at the start of the night (if you can).\n\nWe will kick off announcements at roughly 7:15pm. The committee will give everyone a 5 minute warning so you have time to get another beer from the bar.\n\nLater\, AFTER the club updates\, it’s HIGHLY encouraged to share any homebrew you’ve brought. Sharing your creations is not only a tops thing to do but it’s a great way to get constructive feedback to improve your brewing.
